Thoughts by TSR: I’ve seen the French film Inside. I’ve seen Martyrs. I’ve seen A Serbian Film. Nothing in any of those recent films with a reputation for being difficult to watch is as repulsive as this trailer for Grown Ups 2. Obviously I’m going a bit overboard here, but there is truly nothing redeeming about these two minutes. There is not a single real joke, just a random assortment of idiocy designed to rake in money at the box office so Sandler and his cronies can continue insulting the audience’s intelligence.
This thing starts off on a terrible note, and it's not even because of any new "jokes." It had the nerve to remind me of the terribly grating, "I wanna get chocolate wasted" line from the first. I had mostly repressed that, so thanks for opening old wounds. Plenty of new wounds were created though. For example, there's a deer in Sandler and poor Salma Hayek's house. The deer obviously pees on Sandler's face. Because "jokes!" I'm kind of shocked they didn't have the deer pee on Sandler in a swimming pool so they could bring back the blue urine gag. The rest of the "jokes" are cutting edge stuff like David Spade screaming that he was inside Kevin James, James' character being grossed out by guys in short shorts washing his car, and Taylor Lautner. Truth be told, Lautner is probably the least off-putting part. Well, either him or Chris Rock and James shaking hands like a couple of gentleman. That's basically the only mature moment in this whole thing.
