'Ice Age: Continental Drift' starring Ray Romano and Denis Leary - teaser trailer review

Ice Age: Continental Drift Directed by: Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier Starring: Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary Rating: NR Release Date: July 13, 2011

TRAILER SCORE: 5/10

MY THOUGHTS: Normally I'm a big fan of the sabre-toothed squirrel cartoons that make up the Ice Age Teasers, but this one's kind of a dud.  The squirrel falls to the core of the Earth where he runs along it, causing continental drift.  There are so many things wrong with this in a scientific sense.  Yes, I've seen him fall off huge cliffs unharmed, but it's still more plausible than falling thousands of miles to the center of the Earth.  More unforgivable than the bad science is that it's not that amusing.  I thought after the last Ice Age film, they might just put the series to bed.  Clearly they had run out of ideas.  But now I know they've run out of ideas for the two minute teaser cartoons as well. It just doesn't bode well for the series.
