2009 MTV Movie Award Nominees
God bless the MTV Movie Awards.
They have the same self-indulgence but lack the arrogance of the People’s Choice Awards, and they always offer the best excuse for movies that came out last summer to get re-hyped as if they still haven’t come out yet. Plus, it’s probably the only award show where a film selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as “Best Picture” has the chance of losing to a movie called High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Nominees for this year’s awards (which can be seen live on May 31st) were announced a few days ago, with Slumdog Millionaire and Twilight getting six nominations each. Totally more awesome than the Golden Globes, this award show aims at the real important elements of a good film. Some categories include “Best Kiss,” “Best Fight,” and even “Best WTF Moment.” Suck it, Oscar!
Here’s a list of the nominees, with assistance from movies.about.com
