TSR's complete Film Review Database
This weekend saw Ruffcorn and Kersten both predicting the all-star studded Contagion as the number one movie. Ruffcorn was a little hesitant, estimating $17 million for the movie, whereas Kersten had a little more faith with his guess of $21 million. Contagion took the top spot with a little over $23 million.
The Help was dethroned this weekend, after a long time at the top spot. Still, it didn't fall far, going from first place to second place.
Newcomer Warrior made its way into third place. The inspirational drama has received some solid critical support, including some from our own Bayer, but that just wasn't enough for it to take number one.
The Debt and Colombiana rounded out our top five respectively. Although they haven't been on the top five long, these two might not have much longer on the top five with Drive (starring Ryan Gosling) making its way into theaters next weekend.
Calhoun Kersten vs. Aaron Ruffcorn
Each weekend Kersten and Ruffcorn go head to head in the Box Office Challenge, trying to pick the correct Number One film in America and how much money it will make.
This weekend ... Kersten Wins!
Season record: 8-8
Thoughts by TSR: It was a close one this weekend, but Kersten's optimism for newcomer Contagion put him in the lead this weekend.
