TSR's complete Film Review Database

It was a slow weekend at the box office, but that didn't stop The Help from taking its third consecutive number one spot in its fourth weekend of release.

Kersten's mistake was to put his faith in a movie that wasn't screened for critics. He predicted Apollo 18 winning the weekend with an $18 million draw, but the movie wasn't able to live up to his high hopes for the film's box office power.

Ruffcorn may not have been able to imagine that The Help would overwhelm the box office this weekend, but his guess still performed best out of teh newcomers, even if they didn't quite reach Ruffcorn's high expectations..

The other newcomers filled up most of the rest of the top five, with The Debt performing remarkably well for a movie with political leanings and fewer theaters than the other contenders.

Apollo 18 and Shark Night 3D fought it out for a spot on the top five, with the two taking third and fourth respectively, although the race between the two was a close one.

Finally, the reign of the apes seems to be coming to an end as Rise of the Planet of the Apes dropped to fifth place, but after five weeks of release, it's to be expected.

Calhoun Kersten vs. Aaron Ruffcorn

Each weekend Kersten and Ruffcorn go head to head in the Box Office Challenge, trying to pick the correct Number One film in America and how much money it will make.

This weekend ... Draw!

Thoughts by TSR: A near miss-again with the box office, but props to Ruffcorn for managing to guess the second place winner this weekend!
