  • It's almost Wizard Season again, as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is arriving to theaters this Friday. (My review will be up this weekend.) Last week, I represented a Harry Potter rap, but now it's time to take Hogwarts to the dance floor. A compilation made from sounds within Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, this is another groovy audio-video mix-up by a DJ called Pogo, who has made a name for himself on Youtube doing the same thing with films like Up, Mary Poppins, Toy Story, and more. This might be one of his best. The breakdown towards the end is my absolute favorite part.

  • Here are a bunch of 80's era dudes in distress beckoning the attention of princesses who own VCRs ... among other attributes. Let's hope that some of these guys did end up finding true love after all, with the help of this dated dating service or not.

  • Here's a relationship you don't want to get caught in the middle of - Kanye West vs. Matt Lauer. While Kanye West has certainly had foot-in-mouth ego disease in a few instances, it seems like Lauer is trying to create another episode. He's succeeded, as this video, led by Lauer, will explain.

  • Even though we're almost in "Awards Season," Four Lions is the new buzz movie. (You can read my review of it here.) A dark comedy about inept suicide bombers, something tells me the film would not be as fun, especially in recollection, without the repeated usage of a song as groovy and catchy as Toploader's "Dancing in the Moonlight."

  • While this video goes under the title, "Orchestra Fail," I am sure there are some out there who think this is actually just a jazzier interpretation of Richard Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra," which was made truly iconic in Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Who said that the buildup within the piece had to be harmonious? Why can't it also represent complete cataclysm?

  • Kanye West has also been gaining public attention for his new album, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," which is to be released November 22nd. However, I think I'm more excited for the return of Dr. Dre, whose album "Detox" has been in the works for around eleven years. While we have heard tidbits of the beats from this new album, (like that Dr. Pepper commercial), none have been as promising until now, with this new potential single "Kush." The track features Snoop Dogg and Akon, and as my Dr. Dre-enthusiast friend said, "It looks like all those piano lessons with Burt Bacharach paid off."

Listen to the new Dr. Dre song "Kush" here.
