MY THOUGHTS: And now for the downside of October. Thankfully, I've got plenty of time to prepare myself for this disaster, but I'm not sure if I'll ever really get over it. Seriously, we're talking Single White Female meets Sweet Valley High, how does that sound appealing? And for those of you who may think I'm being hyperbolic, The Roommate is based off a book by Sweet Valley high author Francine Pascal which takes and cleans up Single White Female. I wish I could say that I expected better, but in the same vein as Swimfan, I've come to realize that people will do just about anything for money. If we're being perfectly honest, I'm a little disappointed in the actors more than anything. Well, not Cam Gigandet... or Leighton Meester because after some of the storylines on Gossip Girl this probably looks like Oscar bait to her. Okay, it's pretty much just Minka Kelly. I'm not saying she's the best actress by any means, but after putting in time on great shows like Friday Night Lights and Parenthood she should know what good scripts look like. Who knows, maybe The Roommate will surprise me but then again, that's about as likely as me getting a roommate who wants to steal my life. I mean, seriously, who would want my life?
