'Red' starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren - trailer review

Red Directed by: Robert Schwentke Starring: Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren Rating: PG-13 Release Date: October 15, 2010

TRAILER SCORE: 3/10

MY THOUGHTS: The days of the PG-13 action movie have me bummed as it is, but this dreck seals the deal. I honestly have no idea what Helen Mirren was thinking when she signed on to this one. Sure, it's nice to see an older woman kicking some ass, but have you learned nothing from your days of Teaching Mrs. Tingle Ms. Mirren? It's a good thing that the Academy can't repossess an Oscar because if that was the case, the queen might be in some trouble. Bruce Willis should be just as ashamed, but after Look Who's Talking Too it's become pretty evident that there's no shaming the man. Still, it's nice to see Mary-Louise Parker in something other than "Weeds." She's normally cast as the woman who only turns in a 15 minute performance, but I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of her in this one. I wish I could say there was any other motivation for seeing this movie than Ms. Parker, but that just isn't the case. Part The Losers and part The Bourne trilogy, this movie looks all bad.
