MY THOUGHTS: “SNL” has never been one of my favorite shows and in recent years, it’s proved more tedious than ever. Still, that doesn’t mean that there’s no talent in the cast and I’m glad to see that MacGruber uses most of my favorites. Still, I can’t help but be a little worried when it comes to this one. While I never would have thought that this skit had more potential than its 30-second running time, it looks like a strong effort on Will Forte’s part. My one fear is that this trailer uses up too much of the movie’s material. I know it’s only a little over 2 minutes, but it’s a pretty rapidly paced trailer. This makes it fun to watch, but that’s about it. Still, I have some hopes for this one. Will Forte’s always been one of my favorites since the canceled-before-its-time show “Clone High” aired on MTV. Kristen Wiig in a starring role? God knows she’s been carrying “SNL” long enough to have earned one, but I never thought the day would come. Still, when it boils down to it, it looks like mindless fluff, and I’m okay with that.
