MY THOUGHTS: Once again, something for the comic book fans. Not only is it fantastic to see Robert Downey Jr. return to such a great role, but it looks like this sequel will be living up to the hype. I’m glad we get to see a little more Whiplash this time around, while still maintaining a little mystery there. I was surprised to find that Scarlett Johansson didn’t make more of an appearance in the trailer, but at the same time, making the trailer a little too star-studded would’ve been overwhelming to say the least. Iron Man 2’s returning cast (aside from Terrence Howard) is one of its biggest selling points for me. I’m admittedly a Gwyneth Paltrow fan and I thought she was great in the first movie, and I’m hoping to see her dynamic with Downey Jr. explored a little more. There’s an endless amount of possibilities to where this movie could take the franchise, but with the introduction of unforgettable characters like Whiplash and Black Widow, it’s looking good. Sure, Iron Man 2 has a lot to live up to, but with the release of this new trailer, it’s looking like it’ll have no problems delivering.
