'After.Life' starring Liam Neeson - trailer review

After.Life Directed by: Agnieszka Vosloo Starring: Christina Ricci, Liam Neeson, Justin Long Rating: R Release Date: April 9, 2010

TRAILER SCORE: 7/10

MY THOUGHTS: When I read the plot description, I was admittedly pretty skeptical. It basically sounded like The Sixth Sense but knowing the twist ending before going into it. Based off of the trailer, I’m not so sure. The trailer got me asking questions about the movie. So many trailers are about quick editing and showcasing the special effects or the sex appeal. This trailer has a little of that but it never sacrifices story as a selling point. In terms of its actors, it’s nice to see Ricci return to the screen. The whole time I was watching the trailer I couldn’t help but think “What would Wednesday Addams do?” Sure, they’re completely different movies and Ricci’s all grown up now, but I can’t help but think ofAddams Family whenever I see her. But I digress. Liam Neeson looks interesting in a part I never would have pegged him for (pseudo-bad guy?), but I’m sure he can do. Even Justin Long returns to the horror genre, since last year’s Drag Me To Hell. All in all, exciting cast thought I’d classify as myself as curious but skeptical. Thankfully, I won’t have to wait too long to find out.
