Blu-ray Review

The A-Team - Blu-ray

Directed by:Joe Carnahan Cast: Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson Running Time: 1 hr 57 min Rating: PG 13

PLOT: A group of former Special Forces operatives led by Col. John "Hannibal" Smith (Liam Neeson) are framed for a crime they didn't commit and put into a military prison. They break out and begin the search for the evidence that will clear their names.

WHO'S IT FOR? Action fans, of course, anyone who likes fluffy entertainment, and non-militant fans of the original TV series.

MOVIE: As I've stated previously, I'm a bit of an action movie wh#re: I usually can't get enough and I'm not that picky. Therefore, you may have to take everything I say with a sizable grain of salt if you're at all worried about strength of plot, plausibility, quality of the dialogue, and so on and so on. Know that I'm happy if the actors are charismatic and stuff gets blown up. Is The A-Team going to win critical accolades? Nah. Is it mind-bendingly original, a la Inception? No sir. However, it's fun and it has a rockin' cast of players...okay, so I'm mostly just thrilled that someone had the brains to give Liam Neeson the role of Hannibal and I don't really care about everyone else as long as they don't stink up the place. The action is fast and creative, if not "technically" possible (blah, blah, blah), and it mostly moves along rapidly enough so you won't mind the holes in the plot. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in the theaters, but I'd recommend it as a entertaining rental.

MOVIE SCORE: 6/10
