Box Office Challenge

Hitting the screens this weekend ...

Sucker Punch Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

TSR's complete Film Review Database

It's a tough call this weekend. We've got two new movies this weekend competing for two very different audiences, but which one will take the cake?

My best guess is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. The family-friendly film performed pretty well with the original, and with most family films, you've got a pretty solid built0in audience, with kids and parents alike.

Sucker Punch may give them a run for her money though. Zack Snyder's latest visual feast may do pretty well for itself, especially with those 3-D numbers.

Limitless is probably gonna take a hard hit this weekend, but it's still got a shot to make the top five. The Bradley Cooper film took number one in its opening weekend, but don't expect those kinds of numbers with these two new releases.

Rango and The Lincoln Lawyer are bound to round out the top five. Rango has hung around the top five long enough, but The Lincoln Lawyer never had much of a shot, so don't expect to see it on the top five much longer. Each week we’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order). Also guess how many millions the #1 movie will make.

It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.

My prediction for the weekend of March 25 - 27 …

1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules ($22 million)

2. Sucker Punch

3. Limitless

4. Rango

5. The Lincoln Lawyer

So what are your Top 5 at the box office this weekend?
