Scorsese and De Niro to Reunite for First Film Since 'Casino'

Martin Scorsese’s premiere of his new film Shutter Island brought out a number of A-list stars, but more exciting was news of Scorsese’s next project, which is slated to be a reunion with Robert De Niro. Scorsese seemed determined to focus his efforts on reactions towards Shutter Island but he did give audiences an idea of what to expect. The film, which is currently untitled, features De Niro returning to the mobster world, much like his last collaboration with Scorsese in 1995 with Casino. However, the Oscar-winning director also made it a point to say what kind of film to expect when he said, “… it’s from the vantage point of older men looking back, none of this running around stuff.” He also said that the two are in talks at this stage, so it may be a long time before we see De Niro and Scorsese team up on the big screen again. Until then, get your Scorsese fix with Leonardo DiCaprio leading an all-star cast with Shutter Island which is due out this Friday. Are you excited for the Scorsese and De Niro reunion? Until then, which Scorsese and De Niro picture is going to tide you over?
