IFC picks up Todd Solondz's 'Life During Wartime'

A small victory for the independent film world - writer/director Todd Solondz has finally found a distributor for his latest film, Life During Wartime. At the previous Venice International Film Festival, Wartime won Solondz accolades for best screenplay. Finally, Americans will be able to see the "quasi-sequel" to his 1998 film Happiness when Life During Wartime rolls into theatres summer 2010. The drama (dark comedy?) will be available through IFC's "In Theaters" Platform, which releases films on demand and also to the silver screen at the same time.

Life During Wartime stars Alison Janney, Paul Reubens, Ciaran Hinds, Ally Sheedy, Michael Lerner, and Chris Marquette.  (Happiness featured performances from Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jon Lovitz, Dylan Baker, and Molly Shannon. That film is highly recommended, but considering it is the most awkward film I've ever seen, it's not for the easily offended. At all).

Anyone else excited for this?
