‘Season of the Witch’ starring Nicolas Cage – trailer review

Season of the Witch

Directed by: Peter Goddard, Dominic Sena
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Christopher Lee
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: January 7, 2011

MY THOUGHTS: Oh my, I’d wonder why Nicolas Cage made this movie if I didn’t know about his financial troubles.  Maybe I’m being overly cynical, maybe it’s not a paycheck movie.  But I’m sure it takes a lot of money to run a private island. So back to the movie, Cage sports his same crazy hair cut (which apparently was popular in the Middle Ages as well) in a film starring him and his follicles carting an accused witch across the middle world for a king.  Though I call her an accused witch, the trailer makes it look like she’s the real deal, so I guess you could classify it as fantasy.  The witch is played by Claire Foy, who’s not really known in the U.S.  She’s hot so Cage wants to believe she’s a not guilty, but blah blah blah.  Seriously, I can’t even sustain interest in this preview for two and a half minutes.  So I raise the gauntlet to you, the reader.  Are you ready to take the Season of the Witch challenge?
