MY THOUGHTS: Looking back at Dreamworks Animation’s track record, they’ve put in some pretty solid work. Last year’s Monsters Vs. Aliens, which really didn’t get enough credit, was probably one of my favorites of the last year and it looks like they’ve got another winner on their hands with Megamind. Although it’s only a teaser trailer, it introduces us to a fun and goofy character, in the form of Will Ferrell. Ferrell’s no stranger to animation (remember Curious George?) and he’s got the voice for it, so it really just depends on the story and the other voice actors pulling their weight. It’s hard to imagine Tina Fey not being fantastic as I’m an admitted “30 Rock” fan, but Brad Pitt seems like an odd choice. The trailer doesn’t give you any idea of what roles they’ll be performing only that they’re in it. All in all, it does just what a teaser should do. It makes me want to know more and I definitely want to see more of this character. However, until a full-length trailer comes out, these 46 seconds are all we’ve got. Enjoy.
