What should I do? – 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards

The Hurt Locker, Up in the Air, Inglorious Basterds, Avatar …

It’s my first year voting. There is a 0.01% chance that I will listen to your opinion over mine. But, I’m saying there is a chance. So, what would you vote for? The Critics’ Choice Awards air on VH-1 on January 15. I will post my voting ballot then. If you had a vote, where would it go?

Avatar might get my visual votes, but nothing else. My personal sadness is the exclusion of Away We Go.

  1. zack

This is a toughie. I’ve not seen Avatar yet, will be there thursday night, but I went to Avatar day back in August, and that alone, that fifteen minutes, was one of the best movies I saw this summer. All the technical stuff to Avatar, all the animated stuff, to Up, Best score, UP, Best Comedy: I love you, man, but it’s not nominated, so Hangover. Best action movie, District 9 was too graphic, so Star Trek, but if what i’ve heard about the last 20 minutes of Avatar is true, then Avatar. Obviously, best director would go to Jim Cameron, and all the editing, cinematography etc, to Avatar, even in the trailer it was fantastic.
Original screenplay : Up, Adapted: District 9, Ensemble: Star Trek, young actor: Max Records. And best picture: Avatar. It’s the film that is going to be remembered for years to come, it’s by far the biggest movie this year, many critics are calling it the best movie this year, and really, I mean, you dont’ want to have another Star Wars, or Dark Knight on your hands. You can vote An Education, or Up In The Air, but Avatar is the one that will be remembered for years to come. I would want to be on the supporting side of it.

  2. For the Oscar

    BEST PICTURE:
    Up
(low chance, but still my favorite movie of the bunch)

    BEST ACTOR:
Didn’t see any of the movies, so can’t judge

    BEST ACTRESS:
Sandra Bullock – “The Blind Side” (she owned that movie & if you see the real Leigh Ann Tuohy you would agree – Mery’s already got two Oscars, let Sandra win this)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: only saw Stanley Tucci’s performance and it’s a very understated on

    BEST YOUNG ACTOR/ACTRESS
    Jae Head

    BEST VISUAL EFFECTS:
    Star Trek
(b/c Avatar & 2012 look like visual effects instead of organic part of the story)

    BEST ANIMATED FEATURE:
    Up

    BEST ACTION MOVIE:
    Star Trek

BEST COMEDY: The Proposal (b/c comedies need to be funny, not quirky cute – 500 Days Of Summer didn’t make me laugh & The Hangover – hilarious 1st time, but was really offensive upon second watch)
