When’s the last time Harrison Ford has had a hit. I say Indiana Jones doesn’t count because that’s more of a branding or event than actually getting to see Ford act. Here’s the answer … It’s been almost a decade. What Lies Beneath with Michelle Pfeiffer. Here comes a play on words sure to annoy all … Maybe it’s an extraordinary measure to expect Ford to hit it big at the box office withouth the whip. We’ll find out in January.
Here’s the official news release …
CBS Films announced Monday that due to an overwhelmingly positive response from test audiences, they are moving up the release date for ‘Extraordinary Measures’ from spring to January 22, 2010, making the film the studio’s first release. The movie, starring Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser, was the studio’s first feature to go into production.
Earlier this year, ET visited the set in Portland, Oregon.
This moving drama is inspired by the true story of John Crowley (Fraser), a man who defied conventional wisdom and great odds, and risked his family’s future to pursue a cure for his children’s life threatening disease. He teams with Dr. Stonehill (Ford), a brilliant but unappreciated and unconventional scientist, who helps him find a cure.
“This is an extraordinary story of a guy who went against all odds,” Harrison told ET. “I thought it was a sort of opportunity to tell an uplifting kind of story about very courageous people.”
“What parent wouldn’t do anything for their kids?” Fraser asked. “This is the crowning example of an individual who just would not take no for an answer. He was not a scientist by any means, but he found one who was a bit of a renegade for sure — but brilliant.
“This isn’t going to be a sad story,” added Keri Russell, who plays Fraser’s wife in the film. “This is a story about people who are surviving this, and these are really extraordinary people.”
“The personal part of the Crowleys is an important part of the story,” said Harrison of the film’s real-life inspiration. “He’s a remarkable guy, he’s a remarkable intellect, he’s a compassionate, wise fella — and fun at a party.”
Following “Extraordinary Measures,” CBS Films will release “The Back-up Plan,” a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin, on March 12.

I can’t wait for The Back-Up Plan with Alex O’Loughlin and Jennifer Lopez. Alex is super hot and Jennifer looks great, especially in her white dress. From what I’ve seen of the raw video and pictures, these movie looks like a winner.
Can’t wait to see The Back Up Plan. Been counting the minutes until this movie is released. I guess I will have to just count a little bit longer.
I can’t wait to see The Back-Up Plan with Alex O’Loughlin and Jennifer Lopez. I am a little disappointed The BUP delayed to March 12, but I’ll be there to support Alex and The BUP

this is the height of trying to not give credit to an individual. the reason indy 4 was watchable and such a massive hit was harrison ford who acted brilliantly he was also brilliant in crossing over.
perhaps you need to curb your instincts to run people down. but again nobody would have read this article but for Ford
i rest my case
I see your point. I’m still sticking with the actor vs. icon statement. What’s the last movie you saw of Ford’s that you liked?
I can’t see how CBS would think that the Harrison Ford film could
be a mainstream hit, given it’s subject matter, even with Ford in
the movie. Big stars are often ignored, if the subject matter holds no interest. They should have left The Backup Plan as their
opening movie. As an Alex O’Loughlin fan waiting for CBS to drop
the axe officially on Three Rivers, I’m pretty pissed at them right now.
I'm excited……can't wait to go see "Extraordinary Measures"…….the kids and I had a blast as extras on the set of the movie…….Harrison Ford was smoking hot ……..he's got that certain intense look in his eyes on set…….
Ya I'm a Harrison Ford fan!!!!!!!!!!!!
