The Twilight Saga: New Moon Movie Meets Book
Entertainment Weekly got the first look to The Twilight Saga: New Moon book cover, based on the movie. This gives a definite indication on where the story is heading.
First, let me tell you … I read the first book (good) and saw the film (average) and then didn’t read the second book. If the second film is good, I will plan on reading the third book. Sara Gundell one of the authors of TwilightNovelNovice says the third book is the best and that’s good enough for me to get back on board.
So, the movie posters had me thinking Jacob was going to insert himself into a definitive friend role, but there was no chance that Bella would dare stray from Edward. Um, looks like that’s wrong.
Taylor Lautner fans should be overjoyed. And now Edward has been reduced to a moon. No matter what the attempts of the actual story are, there’s no way Lautner comes close to the fan obsession that Robert Pattinson has, right?
I mean, even in my recent interview with Megan Fox, she said that’s who she would be for 24 hours.

Its the oddest merchandise decision ever. I for one will never buy anything with Lautner on the cover. Noone I know will be either. Of course there’s a % of teen girls who prefer a teen boy to swoon over but the vast majority are fully behind Pattinson and I know from visiting various forums most Twilight fans are spitting blood at this cover. Why alienate the majority for a minority. Ther eis no love triangle so at the very least its grossly misleading
WOW that is the worst cover i have ever seen. Why in the world would they put the wolf smack dab in th middle of the one true pair. Summit/SM please stop trying to pimp out that oversized hairy dog.
I am bemused by Summit and the book company for releasing this cover. Obviously they think they can milk the teens who prefer Jacob to go out and buy the book again but they would still get a heck of a lot more sales if it was Bella and Edward centrestage on the cover. If they continue to alienate the larger fanbase they will live to regret it.

Terrible cover. Totally crazy and dumb, when most people skim the part of the book where Edward is away. But that cover! It’s like Jacob is being forced, front and center, when the true interest of the Twilight saga is clearly the love story of Bella and Edward.
I LOVE THE FRONT COVER FOR NEW MOON:)) But, the only thing that I don’t like about New Moon, is that the HUNK, Edward, will not be there as much:( Don’t get me wrong, it just would have been better if EDWARD were there.

Actually, this cover is quite adequate for the book. Edward is only in Bella’s head not necessary around in a physical sense. This is where Bella creates a relationship with Jacob. At first it is an innocent and selfish relationship because she wants someone to protect her from herself (mind) so that she doesn’t keep hurting herself by thinking of Edward.
So in a sense, there is a love triangle brewing, the only difference is that both Jacob and Edward are unconditionally willing to let Bella be happy even if it makes one of them unhappy (Jacob). In the 3rd book, there is a part where Bella realizes that she does in fact “love” Jacob, but also realizes that she loves Edward even more.
I Love it and remember that in the book it talks about when they were holding hands she was remembering something Jared had said about how jacob shouldnt involve his girlfriend and she said as long as jacob knew it wasnt like that it was ok and even if she didnt like him that way she still liked it b/c it made her feel safe and jacob comforted her so i love it and shut up haterz i wish u would just shut up 4 a min. and clam down its just a book cover remember this is not real

The cover is PERFECT for the book. New Moon is almost all about the Jacob and Bella friendship and her doubts. Bella looks confuse, how she is in the book, Jake protector item in the book and Edward watching out far away. The introduce the wolf pack, like New Moon does. What else you want? The cover is perfect don’t matter is Bella in the end is with Edward or if you like or not Jake is hugging Bella, the cover is about THE BOOK, just that simple.
i LOVE the cover. nothing could have depicted or summarised the second book better or more effectively than this. AWESOMENESS. p.s. i know you guys love the edward and bella tandem but keep an open mind and be objective… this is really what the second book is about.

well.i am really fond of twilight series and i am really fond of Bella-Edward story.but, in new moon Edward’s character is seen much less, only in the beginning or near the end.So, the New moon book was my least favourite of the pack.But, hope to see more of Edward in the movie.
HATE THE COVER!!! What were Summit and Little Brown Thinking?! Do they honestly believe that Taylor Lautner has, or WILL ever have, a fan base as big as Robert Pattinson who will rush out to buy this second movie-tie in copy? I mean lets face it, if RPatz was front and center on the cover, the book would SELL!!
Aside from that, this cover is more reflective of Eclipse as Bella realizes her feelings for Jacob. The movie poster of New Moon is more true to the essence of the second book and THAT should have been the cover of the movie-tie in copy. Twilight is essentially Edward and Bella’s love story and this is terribly misleading. Why are Summit and Little Brown trying to alienate the fans who made Twilight what it is?!
Note to Summit: There’s still time till October for you to change the cover. If revenue is what you’re concerned about, put Edward and Bella front and center and the books WILL sell.
I think that the movie-oriented cover for the new moon book is a RIGHT ON tie-in for the movie- I have read the entire saga, and LOVE them!!
All I can say is I hope that the movie stays as close to the great work of Stephanie Meyer as is possible-PLEASE..
oh my gosh……. i have so many mixed feelings about this cover. At first glance i really don’t like it. I don’t want them showing Jacob touching her. Although I understand the set up because Jacob is there for her in the book but she makes it perfectly clear to us if no-one else that she doesn’t feel that way about him. Bella can’t survive without her soul make and one true love Edward. And the third book she does realize that she does have some sort of feelings for Jacob, but the kiss and everything that happens on the cliff is just so he won’t give up on his own life. I think the cover matches the story line for “new moon” but it’s misleading to have him hugging and touching Bella. Just one readers opinion
okay. the people wwho are saying this book wont sell cause taylor is on the front just give it a break. theres a reason why the cover is like that. its cause edward is hardly in new moon and theyre showing how jacob was there for bella. so whoever hates it think why would they put edward on the main cover if it mostly has jacob in it? exactly. cause it makes more. you can yell and scream at me all you but its not gonna change my opinion. and btw i like the cover. im not on a team. im just switzerland (like bella) thats why i approve of the cover.
