This week brings us plenty of new releases in all shapes and sizes. After all, it’s the beginning of summer blockbuster season, so did you really expect anything less?

Queen Latifah and Common head the movie Just Wright, which if I’m reading the poster correctly, somehow involves basketball? The studio didn’t see fit to give it much promo material and not even a very wide release. My guess is we won’t be hearing from this one again any time soon.

However, I’m not too sure what to make of Amanda Seyfried in Letters to Juliet… I’ve never been a big romance fan and definitely not the Nicholas Sparks-esque romance fan so I personally am not too stoked for this one. I’m not sure this has the potential for breakaway success like Dear John but I’m betting it’ll at least be a modest hit.

Finally, Robin Hood will be hitting theaters this week. The trailers for this movie have proved pretty “love it or hate it” about the movie. Still, with a cast like this, most notably Cate Blanchett, I doubt the movie will suffer too horribly. Not like many of Ridley Scott’s movies ever have, but there remains a lot of skepticism about the casting of Russell Crowe in the titular role. So far, it seems there’s nothing really to write home about on this one, but I doubt that will hold it back.

It’s my best guess that Iron Man 2 will still hold its number one spot, despite all the newcomers. I don’t think we’ve heard the last of Iron Man and Robert Downey Jr.’s not giving up that spot without a fight.

I’m willing to bet that A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) will fall hard this weekend with all the new releases. Its fall from grace after its opening weekend isn’t a good indication for this one. Guess Bayer’s review really got to some folks…

Finally, I’m also guessing that How to Train Your Dragon is on its way out this weekend. It’s put up a good fight, but as the blockbusters keep coming on strong, it’s inevitable. I’m predicting it’ll round out the list at five.

Each week we’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order).

It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.

My prediction for the weekend of May 14 – May 16 …

1. Iron Man 2

2. Robin Hood

3. Letters to Juliet

4. A Nightmare on Elm Street

5. How to Train Your Dragon

So what are your Top 5 at the box office this weekend?
