The thought ... he couldn't do worse, comes to mind. Christopher McQuarrie has signed on to write the screenplay for the sequel, which was a prequel/spinoff, to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
It's getting to be a little complicated keeping track of the X-Men movies. We've got three X-Men's, and I think everyone has officially decided that the first two are good, and the third is not. Then we have X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and now a sequel, and a spin-off of a spin-off with Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Deadpool.
It's like X-Men has become "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" with all it's spin-offs. Too old of a reference? Are the young kids shaking their collective heads at me?
Anyway, McGuarrie is the man behind Usual Suspects.
Hollywood Reporter says the movie's story line will take its cue from the early 1980s Chris Claremont/Frank Miller miniseries, which is set in Japan and features Wolverine dealing with ninjas as he struggles whether to follow his animal killer instincts or the life under a samurai's code of honor and respect.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine made money ... almost $180 million in the U.S. and $363 million worldwide. But did you actually like the story?
