Righteous KillDirected by: Jon Avnet Cast: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), Carla Gugino Time: 1 hr 45 mins Rating: R

Plot: A pair of veteran New York City police detectives (De Niro and Pacino) are on the trail of a vigilante serial killer, which may turn out to be one of New York City's finest.

Who’s It For? It's hard to overlook the star power behind this film, so I won't. The names De Niro and Pacino will put people in the seats. There is violence and one blurred over rape scene.

Expectations: It's funny, I wasn't hearing any buzz, good or bad. The only thing I knew about this film was that Pacino's character was originally written for a young actor, De Niro showed it to him, and

The WomenDirected by: Diane English Cast: Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, Eva Mendes Time: 1 hr 55 mins Rating: PG-13

Plot: Mary (Ryan) discovers her husband is having an affair. Her friends come to her aid and confront the shop girl (Mendes) who has her clutches in Mary's man.

Who’s It For? If you are going through a divorce maybe this will help you gain perspective, or perhaps you are worried that you're the worst parent.

Expectations: I was hoping that The Women would be able to embrace the difficult, delicate subject of beauty in America or at least be more entertaining then Sex and the City: The Movie. It doesn't, but there is a documentary out

Narrative Review Burn After Reading Directed by: Joel Coen and Ethan Coen Cast: George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton Time: 1 hr 35 mins Rating: R

Earlier this year the Coen Brothers brought home some notable hardware for their peculiarly blunt No Country for Old Men. By bringing the same fresh sense of perspective, and uncanny attention to cinematic detail, the siblings adequately rivaled anything they had completed before by taking another step forward. In an effort to, perhaps quiet the storm of Oscar, they’ve brought us a film that reminds us how dark their version of comedy can be.

The only trouble was, they may have had too much to work with. In the end, it’s more of a mess than a masterpiece.

When you employ a cast of legendary Hollywood ringers, it’s

Babylon A.D.Directed by: Mathieu Kassovitz Cast: Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh, Mélanie Thierry Time: 1 hr 35 mins Rating: PG-13

Quickcard Review

Plot:Toorip (Vin Diesel) is a mercenary hired to deliver a young woman (Mélanie Thierry) from post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe to New York City, but she has a mysterious secret that leads many to try and claim her as their own, including the religious group, the Neolites.

Overall: It doesn't help when everyone struggles pronouncing Toorip's name. I was thinking it might have been Tulip for the first half. But that's not nearly the big problem here. It seems that director Kassovitz fully understands the world he is creating, but he never bothers to explain it to the rest of us. The film starts with a voiceover from Diesel, and you remember how easy it is

Disaster MovieDirected by: Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer Cast: Matt Lanter, Crista Flanagan, G. Thang, Kimberly Kardashian Time: 1 hr 20 mins Rating: PG-13

Plot: No wait, seriously there is a plot. Over the course of one evening, a group of twenty-somethings find themselves confronted by a series of disasters and odd events.

Who’s It For? This is for teenagers who are hung up on trying to decide what is cool and what's not. I mean ... didn't teenagers flock to the superhero flicks? So why do they want to sit through lame jokes involving them? Also, parents should know, it's indecent, profane and includes one joke comment about a coat hanger for an abortion.

Expectations: I wasn't excited about this film at all. No reasonable person would be. But College and Babylon A.D

TraitorDirected by: Jeffrey Nachmanoff Cast: Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Said Taghmaoui, Neal McDonough Time: 1 hr 54 mins Rating: PG-13

Plot: When a special operative (Cheadle) goes into deep cover constructing horrendously deadly bombs for a terrorist group, he unwillingly becomes a public enemy to the C.I.A.

Who’s It For? Not for the faint of heart, or anyone who only follows world affairs casually. It’s a more relevant version of the Jason Bourne story, hitting far closer to home than any James Bond spin off ever has.

Expectations: A stellar cast isn’t always the perfect formula for cinematic success. After sterling performances in thinking-man films (Hotel Rwanda), and touching humanized features (Reign Over Me), the question is whether or not Cheadle can pull off both at once.

SCORECARD (1-10)

Actors: Don Cheadle as Samir Horn: Reinstates

Death RaceDirected by: Paul W.S. Anderson Cast: Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Tyrese Gibson and Ian McShane Time: 1 hr 40 mins Rating: R

Plot: In the near future, prisons are run by corporations and Death Race is bigger than the Super Bowl. Jensen (Statham) is framed to become the next great driver.

Who’s It For? It's a fairly boring action movie that fails to just give us an awesome "Death Race." There is some pretty violent moments so it definitely earns its R rating. If you'll sit through anything for some blood, then you won't mind the absurd leaps and bounds Death Race attempts to take with a straight face.

Expectations: I was nervous. Event Horizon, Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil are all directed by Anderson and Allen's presence had me scratching my head.

SCORECARD

House BunnyDirected by: Fred Wolf Cast: Anna Faris, Emma Stone, Colin Hanks and Katherine McPhee Time: 1 hr 40 mins Rating: PG-13

Plot: Shelly (Faris), a Playboy bunny, is kicked out of the mansion and forced to look for work. She stumbles upon the Zeta Alpha Zeta house with seven members full of odd quirks and they are about to lose their house. Shelly and her feminine ways attempts to save the day, but the girls from Phi Iota Mu are trying to stop them.

Who’s It For? Guys, don't be fooled. This isn't just for the girls, there is quality humor plus there is tons of eye candy of all varieties. And parents, a lot of the film is about using or accentuating sexuality, so keep that in mind if you are bringing the

Hamlet 2Directed by: Andrew Fleming Cast: Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, Joseph Julian Soria, Elisabeth Shue Time: 1 hr 30 mins Rating: R

Plot: Dana Marschz (Coogan) is a failed actor turned into an even worse drama teacher for West Mesa High in Tucson, Arizona. He has one chance to save his job or the drama departure will be dropped. Dana decides to write an original play titled "Hamlet 2."

Who’s It For? If you ever had an over eager drama school teacher or adore the comedic styling of Coogan than you'll find plenty of laughs with Hamlet 2.

Expectations: Coogan turned in a strong performance in Tropic Thunder. He's mostly known for his portrayal as Alan Patridge, but I've never seen that British show, am I missing out? The film is by the co-writers

The RockerDirected by: Peter Cattaneo Cast: Rainn Wilson, Teddy Geiger, Christina Applegate, Emma Stone Time: 1 hr 30 mins Rating: PG-13

Plot: Robert 'Fish' Fishman was the drummer in the band Vesuvius, but just before they hit it big, they kicked him out. Now it's 20 years later and Fish has a second chance ... only this time it's with his nephew's high school band A.D.D.

Who’s It For? If you've missed out on your dreams, maybe this film will be a nice venting experience for you. It's School of Rock mixed in with Rock Star but not as strong as either.

Expectations: Is Rainn Wilson only capable of being the great Dwight Schrute? That's the question. He's not normally what you would think of for leading man material, plus, would his awful looking

Star Wars: The Clone WarsDirected by: Dave Filoni Cast: Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee Time: 1 hr 30 mins Rating: PG

Plot: Set in the time period between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, this story finds Anakin Skywalker (Lanter) saddled with a padawan named Ahsoka Tano (Eckstein). Together they must rescue Jabba the Hutt's son in a hope to negotiate safe passage, but Count Dooku (Lee) is there to stop them. This film will lead into a new TV series in the Fall.

Who’s It For? Kids. I know, I was hoping it would capture some of the Star Wars magic for adults as well, but it doesn't. Young girls will appreciate Ahsoka (Snips). Cartoon Network did a much better job of storytelling with "Clone Wars" back

Fly Me to the MoonDirected by: Ben Stassen Cast: Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry, Trevor Gagnon, Philip Daniel Bolden, David Gore Time: 1.5 hours Rating: G

Plot: In 1969 NASA plans to launch the first manned mission to the moon. Excited about the opportunity, three young flies plan stow away on the Apollo 11 space flight in an attempt to be the first insects on the moon.

Who’s It For? This one is for the young kids who haven't yet had the experience of 3D on the big screen. Old enough that they can sit for 90 minutes with 3D glasses on but there's probably not enough substance for the over 10 crowd.

Expectations: I haven't seen a lot of buzz (pun intended) about the movie except that it's in 3D. I hold any animated movie to

Bottle ShockDirected by: Randall Miller Cast: Bill Pullman, Chris Pine, Alan Rickman and Freddy Rodríguez Time: 1 hr 40 mins Rating: PG-13

Plot: Based on a true story from the early days of Napa Valley getting noticed in the wine community and the blind wine testing of 1976 in Paris known as the "Judgment of Paris."

Who’s It For? If you love Napa Valley or the history of wine, then this film will give you a glimpse into that world.

Expectations: Zero. I knew nothing except Alan Rickman, Freddy Rodríguez and Bill Pullman were in it. I loved my trip to Napa a couple years ago with the wife, so as soon as I saw that, I was on board, though I have to admit, I never heard of "Judgment of Paris."

SCORECARD (1-10)

Actors: Bill Pullman as Jim

Narrative Review American Teen Directed by: Nanette Burstein Cast: Hannah Bailey, Colin Clemens, Geoff Haase, Megan Krizmanich, Mitch Reinholt Time: 1 hr 35 mins Rating: PG-13

High school is hard enough. Having a camera in your face, going along for the ride can't help. The kids of Warsaw Community High School in Warsaw, Indiana have been given center stage in this documentary by Burstein (On the Ropes, The Kid Stays in the Picture).

Burstein has managed to find all the necessary cliques roaming the high school halls. There's Hannah; the smart moody misfit. Megan; the popular, demanding rich girl. Colin; the star athlete with pressure on his shoulders. Mitch; the dreamboat. Jake; the social outcast.

This alone is the main problem with the film. While it's entertaining and well beyond the MTV style reality shows, in the analyzation

Tropic ThunderDirected by: Ben Stiller Cast: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Tom Cruise Time: 1 hr. 50 mins Rating: R

Check out the new Top 7 list of Ben Stiller films

Plot: Superstar Tugg Speedman (Stiller), is cast in the biggest, most expensive war movie ever. His co-stars are Kirk Lazarus (Downey Jr.); an intense method actor, Jeff Portnoy (Black); star of a fart-comedy franchise, hip-hop-star Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson); and first-time actor Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel). The actors are thrown into a real-life situation and are forced to become the fighting unit they’re portraying, in order to find a way out of the jungle alive.

Who’s It For? If you like it when Hollywood pokes fun at itself, then enjoy. Plus there are fake trailers and tons of
