MOVIE:
(Synopsis from warnervideo.com) Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman narrates the documentary adventure Born to be Wild, an inspired story of love, dedication and remarkable bond between humans and animals. Born to be Wild transports you into the lush rainforests of Borneo with world-renowned primatologist Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan savannah with celebrated elephant authority Dr. Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick, as they and their teams rescue, rehabilitate and return these incredible animals to the wild.
*************
I visited an elephant hospital in Thailand. This film seems even more amazing than my own personal experience. I mean, baby elephants? Daphne is the first to raise an infant elephant. That's shocking. Only because it hasn't been done before. Daphne provides amazing care for these creatures. You can feel the love throughout this documentary.
You know that ill feeling you can sometimes get at a zoo? It's not present here. Both locations are open, with plenty of room to roam.
My favorite highlight? A baby orangutans double-fisting two bottles of milk. That's something you won't be able to see on a safari. Though admittedly, I'm happy these animals were able to get back to where they belong.
With it only being 40-minutes long, make sure you get a good deal on this Blu-ray, or if you're lucky enough try to catch it on an IMAX screen.
MOVIE SCORE: 7/10
