It wasn't a weekend of many surprises here at The Scorecard Review. As predicted, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules took home the prize in its opening weekend. I'm sure Bayer would have a few choice words to say about that, but regardless, the public has spoken.
And from what the public is saying, Sucker Punch isn't much better off. the Zack Snyder helmed action flick landed in second place with its debut. Snyder has always been one of those "Love 'em or hate 'em" type of directors, but even fanboys are having a rough time swallowing this bitter pill.
Limitless dropped from first to third this weekend. It must have been a hard hit for the studio to take, but considering the two new releases this weekend, it had to have been expected.
What I didn't count on was The Lincoln Lawyer landing in the same spot as it did last weekend. I guess when you start out in fourth, there really aren't many other places to go.
Finally, Rango rounded out the top five. It's had a solid run in the top five, but by now, most movie-goers have already seen it, so it's no surprise that it's dangling down by the bottom.
