I will be the first to admit that I underestimated the power of the Disney princess. It seemed like everyone except me called this one, but I for one am glad to see Tangled get the attention that it deserves.
Of course, that means a slip for everybody's favorite boy wizard. After it's stellar opening weekend, I can't feel too bad for Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and the demotion to number two isn't exactly something to cry about.
Burlesque continues to... well, pretty much do nothing. It's a slight improvement from its fourth place last weekend, but only enough to break even with Unstoppable according to this weekend's box office estimates.
Then again, Unstoppable has already surpassed my expectations in staying pop culturally relevant for the past four weeks. Fourth place isn't too much to celebrate, but considering how long it's lasted on the top five, it's pretty impressive.
Finally, Love and Other Drugs isn't exactly feeling the love. It doesn't seem like too many theaters are willing to take a chance on this movie, but it has still managed to wiggle its way in to the top five for the first weekend.
