Hitting the screens this weekend ...
Saw 3-D The Girl Who Kick the Hornet's Nest (limited)
TSR's complete Film Review Database
The time is upon us! Although it seems like it's been a quick October (at least for me) we're fast approaching the end of the month, and you all know what that means, right? The final chapter of the Saw franchise! There are some folks out there excited for the final chapter and others are just plain excited that it is the final chapter. No matter which camp you fall into, it's looking like Saw 3-D may be the film to beat this Halloween weekend, especially considering the Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's nest is a limited release.
Paranormal Activity 2 had a record breaking opening weekend, but are cheap scares enough to keep it at the top of its game? Sorry fans, I've gotta say no. Saw 3-D is going to milk that 3-D market for all its worth, but Paranormal Activity 2 still has a great shot at the number two slot.
Our other 3-D companion, Jackass 3-D is still having a good run so I'm predicting a third place finish this Halloween weekend. After all, even in its third weekend, it's hard to grow tired of watching other people's risking life and limb for the pure amusement of the audience.
Finishing up the list, I'm expecting RED to nab fourth, with Eastwood's Hereafter falling even further to number five. Both films don't seem to have what it takes to scare up big numbers on this Halloween weekend. Instead, let's leave that to the horror sequels, shall we?
Each week we’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order). Also guess how many millions the #1 movie will make.
It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.
My prediction for the weekend of October 29 - 31 …
1. Saw 3-D ($23 million)
2. Paranormal Activity 2
3. Jackass 3-D
4. RED
5. Hereafter
So what are your Top 5 at the box office this weekend?
