TSRn: George Clooney dropping out of 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'

The Scorecard Review news

News: Deadline.com says that George Clooney is leaving the project The Man From U.N.C.L.E. being directed by Steven Soderbergh. Source: Deadline.com

Thoughts by TSR: Deadline.com isn't giving the reason why Clooney is leaving the director and assumed friend behind. Clooney and Soderbergh  have worked together on Out of Sight and the Ocean's Eleven films. Supposedly Warner Bros. is still keeping the February 2012 start to filming, so that means Clooney must be replaced.

The film is based on the '60s spy drama that starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum. The title alone is enough to bother me Trying typing it out, it's annoying, and yes, I'm that lazy. More importantly, who can replace Clooney in star power?

Soderbergh's next film is Contagion starring Matt Damon. It opens September 9.
