You know how kids love to get away with calling a female dog a bitch? Well, we can milk Christoph Waltz being a Basterd for all it's worth (if we want).
The runaway star of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds has signed on to play the villain in The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen, according to Variety.
Rogen plays a newspaper publisher by day who becomes a masked crime fighter at night. Asian pop star Jay Chou plays his martial arts-skilled sidekick and chauffeur Kato, while Cameron Diaz plays the love interest. Waltz will play Chudnofsky, a Los Angeles crime boss. It's a role originally thought to be played by Nic Cage.
Here's the thing, in the back of my mind, I can't help but think about other actors (Halle Berry for one) who have gone from Oscar caliber performances to superhero stuff, resulting in disaster. Though Michael Gondry wasn't involved in any of those efforts so there's hope. No word yet on what accent Waltz will wear for this role.
