Sony Pictures just announced they will be moving back the release date of The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen, Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz, reports Variety. The film will now be released December 17, 2010. This is the second time the release date has been moved. In July it was changed form June 25, 2010 to July 9. Since director Michel Gondry only started filming this week, there just isn't enough time to finish shooting, effects and editing by next summer.
In the film Rogen plays newspaper publisher Britt Reid whose alter ego is a masked vigilante, the Green Hornet. Cage plays a nemesis and Diaz a love interest. Rounding out the main characters is Jay Chou as sidekick Kato.
Barring any further changes we can plan on an early Christmas present in a green mask.
