Xavier Samuel. Twilight fans, remember the name and look him up, as the young Australian actor is the next lovable face to join the famous franchise.
The Hollywood Reporter dropped the news recently that Samuel will play the role of "Riley" in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Riley is described by the website as "a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart). Riley is corrupted by Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness.
As some of you may already know, the bigger picture of Eclipse involves Bella struggling to choose between Jacob (Taylor Lautner) or Edward (Robert Pattinson).
This will be Xavier Samuel's first US film, as his previous movies are all Australian (according to IMDB).
The third Twilight film is set to begin shooting next month in Vancouver, with Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night director David Slade at the helm. It is aiming for a June 30 2010 release date.
What do you think, Twilight fans? Is Samuel a good lookin' guy? He's definitely got the exotic thing going on, which I think is a step about Pattinson's English accent. However, I'm sticking to my guns by saying that I think Cam Gigandet is still the best looking dude that the franchise had to offer, (so far). And yes, that includes Lautner's shirtless cameo in the New Moon trailer.
