By now you have probably heard that director Tim Burton is creating his own version of Louis Carroll's classic Alice in Wonderland for the big screen. This week the project released some concept art and publicity images. USA Today got the first look (more pics on link below).
If you are familiar with Tim Burton's work the images will come as no surprise. Once again he has created his own surreal world and creepy characters to tell this classic tale. In producer Richard Zanuck's words, "It has been Burton-ized." This time around you can even get a little closer to Burton's world as it will be available in 3D.
You may recognize Burton's go to players, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. However, you may not know young Mia Wasikowska who plays Alice. The 19-year-old from Australia is best known for her work in the HBO series "In Treatment." According to Zanuck, "There's something real, honest and sincere about her, she's not a typical Hollywood starlet."
The promotional material should start popping up in theaters soon so keep your eyes open. However, you'll have to wait until March 10 to fully venture into the rabbit hole.
