Jake's Takes: 'The Town' interviews with Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm and Blake Lively

The Town Directed by: Ben Affleck Cast: Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Blake Lively Running Time: 2 hrs 5 mins Rating: R Release Date: September 17, 2010

PLOT: A long time bank robber (Affleck) falls for a hostage. Now he must balance those feelings with protecting his crew with the FBI, who are hot on their trail.

Jake's Take on his interviews with Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm and Blake Lively:

Sometimes when you do a junket, you put more precedence on one interview over another, if only because you hardly ever use ALL of the interviews you do for a movie. Maybe because you just don't have the time, the space or maybe even because not all of the big stars you're interviewing are exactly ... well, big enough to justify taking up space that you could be using for more of a film's A-list lead.

But, then you have a movie like The Town -- and that's there the pressure is on. You walk into a junket like this knowing that you have to hit something right in every room because no room is expendable. You have the actor/director that everyone is talking about, the star of the most popular show on television, the star of last year's Best Picture winner, the cute British romantic lead and the pretty young TV star who has taken a startling dramatic turn.

Not an expendable interview in sight. And that's not only what makes the junket a special one, but the movie too.

Because in the end, without the movie, I would have been the expendable one.
