In what might be the greatest comedy of all-time (am I jumping ahead of myself?), Will Ferrell shall be the sidekick for Sasha Baron Cohen takes the lead as Sherlock Holmes. Ferrell will be his Watson in a comedy about the master detective. Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) is writing the screenplay and Judd Apatow will produce.

This is the second Sherlock film that is underway with Guy Ritchie attempting a more serious film.

Wow. Mike Myers supposedly has an uncontrollable ego (EW article) and this beating can't help. A distant second for the "comedy event of the summer." Not likely. It will be curious if this kills more Austin Powers or makes him

Two big comedies are fighting it out this weekend, but one has more action than the other, and that should spell a victory (that and about 3000 more screens). Get Smart, the update of the TV series starring Steve Carrell will open on 6,500 screen and therefore, win the box office. Love Guru, starring Mike Myers will beg for your attention on 3,700 screens. Ignore it.
