Thoughts by TSR: I've started every day since 2002 the same exact way. I open my eyes and say, “I hope today’s the day! Hopefully they finally announce that they are making a third Men in Black movie!” And finally my wish has been granted! OK, I have a confession to make. That is not how I’ve started every day since 2002. In fact, I could not care less if we got another adventure with Agents J and K. I’m wondering who out there has been waiting for this. Assuming there is an audience, however, I suspect they will find this trailer for Men in Black III satisfying.
While most of it looks like what we’ve come to expect from these films, there are two things that I love about the trailer. The first is that it mostly only shows first act stuff. We get the basic idea of the film, see a bit of Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith (we all realize this is his first film since 2008, right?) doing their thing in the present day, but there isn’t much of what happens after Smith (literally) jumps through time. And that leads me to the one thing that could make Men in Black III worth seeing: Josh Brolin’s amazing impression of Tommy Lee Jones. We only are shown up to the moment J first meets him, but Brolin seems to nail it. If he is able to maintain it on that high of a level, it might be reason enough to check the film out. Oh, right. It's another 3D post-conversion. Better make it a matinee then.
