Thoughts by TSR: If ever you wanted a lovechild of Sleepy Hollow and Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, then The Raven is for you! And if you've read a lot of Poe, you know that he found all sorts of delightfully wicked ways to kill people off. The concept of a serial killer borrowing from those ideas is extremely cool.
John Cusack is a good choice for Poe, because we like Cusack. We root for Cusack. We put it out of our minds that the real Poe spent his final days penniless, disgraced, and dying from rabies; we prefer to think of Poe as outwitting maniacs and saving attractive damsels in distress. It's about time the kooky nerd gets to swashbuckle.
Add to that the director who gave us V for Vendetta and all sorts of spooky atmosphere, and you have the potential for great movie fun. I don't know about you, but I could watch John Cusack go sweeping down dark streets in black capes for hours. Here's to hoping it's the scary entertainment it could be!
