'Drive' starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan - red band trailer review

Drive Directed by: Nicholas Winding Refn Starring: Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks Rating: R Release Date: September 16, 2011

Thoughts by TSR: The trailer I got was not what I was expecting. Movies about fast cars tend to be over the top, silly and fun. Very rarely does anyone try to give them a strong story as well. Gosling looks the part as a devil-may-care stunt driver who also works on the side driving get away cars for criminals. Then he gets in over his head with Brooks (!!) as some kind of crime boss who's involved with his beautiful neighbor's former felon husband. I'm already fascinated with the story. It doesn't hurt that Refn won best director at Cannes, something few action movies can boast.

Refn previously worked on Bronson, another dark and impressive action movie. I'm eager to see how this one turns out.
