'Hop' starring James Marsden - teaser trailer review
Hop Directed by: Tim Hill Starring: James Marsden, Russell Brand, Kaley Cuoco Rating: NR Release Date: April 1, 2011
TRAILER SCORE: 5/10
MY THOUGHTS: You don't see a lot of movies about the Easter bunny these days... or really ever now that I think about it. Sadly, this teaser trailer is no exception. I read the synopsis and thought it sounded like a cute Easter version of The Santa Clause with a solid cast. Well, truth be told, after watching this teaser trailer, I still can't really tell you what it's about or about how this trailer uses the cast. I can tell you one thing though. I like Blur. You know, the band? So I was excited that there was a cute little CG bunny playing Blur, but "Song 2" (known as "Woo Hoo" to most people) is used in just about every action montage from the late 90s so even that wasn't enough to save this.
Instead of doing what this teaser trailer promised and "teasing", this feels like one of those Superbowl commercials that you watch and say to yourself "Aw, that was cute... now what the hell was it for?" I left this teaser trailer with no questions and no understanding of what the movie was, but ya know what, I'll throw it a couple points because it was kinda adorable.
