'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I' starring Daniel Radcliffe - trailer review
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
Directed by: David Yates Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson Rating: NR Release Date: November 19, 2010
TRAILER SCORE: 8/10
MY THOUGHTS: I was a little rough on the previous teaser trailer because, unlike most of America, I gave up on the books. I got past the fourth and simply stopped caring and the problem with the teaser trailer was that it was all quick flashes of action shots, but no substance or story. Well, not much has changed since the teaser trailer and this full length one. There's still little (if any) exposition at all, but here's what got me thinking. You know how just about every other movie claims that "this is the movie sensation of the year" or some other thinly veiled line of PR bull? The difference between that and this movie's doing it is that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part I has earned the title. It's been a long time coming and even if I wasn't nuts about the last movie (after finally getting around to seeing it), there's something admittedly nostalgic that might cloud my judgment. Audiences have watched names like Daniel Radcliffe become household names and so many of us have watched these actors grow up alongside us. Okay, I may exaggerate, I'm 2 years older than Radcliffe but you get the picture. We deserve the epic ending that was promised us when the first movie came out. Judging from this trailer, fans are going to get what they deserve with this epic two-parter. Check it out for yourself.
