'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I' starring Daniel Radcliffe - trailer review
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Directed by: David Yates Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint Rating: NR Release Date: November 19, 2010
TRAILER SCORE: 8/10
MY THOUGHTS: I've never been a huge Harry Potter fan so I can't even begin to imagine the excitement of hardcore fans of the book and movie series. Still, I guess you could say I've had a casual interest in the franchise as it expands. There's always been something nice about watching these actors and actresses grow up over the years, especially in their craft. So by that logic, I'm hoping Hermione's gotten over her whiny phase, which made the fourth movie so painful, but I'm not holding my breath. However, I've got to say that same part of me is sad to see the franchise end. At least with this trailer, it promises to go out with a bang. For those of us who haven't read the books, there's no real discernible plot, I just know that it's all going down. This film promises more stunning imagery as people have come to expect from the movies and some new sights to keep things interesting. While I'm sure there were will be some die-hard fans who'll be upset with adaptation, as a casual observer, it looks fun. Maybe even fun enough to force me to sit through Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I'm not going to make promises I can't keep, but maybe I'll get around to it before this one comes out in November.
