MY THOUGHTS: Every so often, another Rachel McAdams movie makes its way to the movie theaters. True, it’s been a while (I don’t count Sherlock Holmes) but she’s back with a trailer for the new movie Morning Glory. It’s another one of those thinly veiled “Hollywood execs poking fun at show business to prove the disgusting amounts of blow hasn't affected their sense of humor” type of movies. While I normally don’t go for these, Rachel McAdams is charming enough to sell it. I only wish they hadn’t advertised it by capitalizing on the success of The Devil Wears Prada because as soon as I saw that, I couldn’t think of much else but the similarities between the two. Still, it’s good to see the likes of Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford still acting. I’m hoping Keaton isn’t as woefully underused as she is in the trailer, but only time will tell. As for Harrison Ford, well, it’s about time he’s started portraying someone his actual age so that’ll be interesting. All in all, Morning Glory has potential to be fun, but certainly nothing life-altering. I’d save it for a rainy day or a renter at the very best.
