'You Again' starring Kristen Bell - trailer review
You Again Directed by: Andy Fickman Starring: Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver Rating: PG Release Date: September 24, 2010
TRAILER SCORE: 8/10
MY THOUGHTS: Every so often, I’m in the mood for a little fun. After going through film school where every other class was oozing pretension, I admit that I have a blind spot for stupid, cutesy movies. I also admit that my love for Kristen Bell is undying. So naturally, when I found out she had another movie, I was a little worried we were headed for another When in Rome, but this trailer rid me of my doubts. Kristen Bell looks as adorable as ever with proof that her comedic skills might just be bankable. I mean, sure she was Sarah Marshall in Forgetting Sarah Marshall but only recently has Kristen Bell started to receive top billing, which in a cast like this is quite an honor. That’s one of the other things that gives me comfort about this trailer is that there are so many strong comediennes, which seems rare in a lot of movies these days. Jamie Lee Curtis as a mother who’s forced to see if she can follow her own advice looks priceless. Sigourney Weaver as a passive-aggressive hell spawn from Jamie Lee Curtis’s past looks just as promising. I’ve been a fan of Betty White since “Golden Girls” and her recent run on SNL proves she’s still got it. I’m anxious to see Kristen Chenoweth’s role in this, but with a cast this strong, I have high hopes for You Again.
