TRAILER SCORE: 5/10
MY THOUGHTS: With all the talk of Brangelina and their charity work and their romantic lives, sometimes it’s not always easy for me to remember that Angelina Jolie is an actress. Or maybe it’s just that I don’t think she's a very memorable actress? I’m honestly not sure which one it is, but Salt doesn’t look much better for Ms. Jolie. A sort of crossover between The Fugitive and a chick version of Shooter with action sequences stolen from better movies, this pretty much looks like recycled tripe. Now I know what you’re thinking, that I may be bias against Angelina Jolie. The truth of the matter is, I’m not, although that kiss with her brother was a little uncomfortable… I don’t care what she does with her life. I care what she does on screen. That being said, nothing gets me more than when actors and actresses who know they’re good at what they do, do something as forgettable as this. I love blockbuster movies, this is nothing against them, it’s just this particular blockbuster asks a lot of questions and gives away too many answers to actually be a compelling trailer for me. In the end, the trailer asks the question “Who is Salt?” My question for them is this, by this point in the trailer after pretty much the whole plot’s been given away, who cares? It may have some cool action scenes, but not enough to save it for me.
