MY THOUGHTS: Alright, I know what you may be thinking… and 8 seems pretty high for this, but I’ll give you two good reasons. First, I love the original Predator but I know if I end up comparing the two, no matter what I’ll be disappointed so I’ve decided to withhold my judgments. Two, this rating is based on a contingency. So help me God, if I see a “PG-13” on this movie, my wrath will be unimaginable. This trailer gives a nice introduction for those who haven’t seen previous Predator movies, which in this day and age could be quite a few people. For those of us who have seen the original, it sort of seems like there’s not a whole lot left to piece together. However, like I said before, I’m willing to hold my judgments until I actually see the movie. Until then, the trailer’s all I’ve got. It does a good job of establishing suspense and location (sounds odd, but location is pretty crucial, at least in the original). I definitely appreciate the whole “less is more” thing and them not showing us all the good kills or even much of the Predators. I’ve got high hopes for this one, but it looks like I’ll have to wait for July to see if it delivers.
