'The Switch' starring Jennifer Aniston - trailer review
The Switch Directed by: Will Speck Starring: Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Patrick Wilson Rating: PG-13 Release Date: August 20, 2010
TRAILER SCORE: 7/10
MY THOUGHTS: I may be in the minority here, but I think it’s about time for Jennifer Aniston to stop doing romantic comedies. I’m not sure what else she can do, but I feel like all of her territories have been explored within the rom-com genre. Even this newest flick, The Switch which is a sort of pregnancy romantic comedy (which is becoming more and more common i.e. The Back-Up Plan) looks like it’ll wear thin by the end of its 90 minutes or so. Still, this movie does have one thing going for it, which is unfortunately not Jennifer Aniston. Finally, casting Jason Bateman in a lead role is a smart move if you ask me. He’s proven he’s got the skills to carry a movie, but he’s never really been given much of an opportunity aside from the forgettable Extract which not many people took the time to see. Hopefully having a co-star like Jennifer Aniston (for better or for worse) will be more than enough to at least get this movie noticed. All in all, while it doesn’t look like the best way to spend a Saturday evening, it may have just enough to make it worth a rent or a rainy day pick.
