'Get Him to the Greek' starring Jonah Hill - trailer review
Get Him to the Greek Directed by: Nicholas Stoller Starring: Jonah Hill, Russell Brand, Rose Byrne Rating: R Release Date: June 4, 2010
TRAILER SCORE: 10/10
MY THOUGHTS: I admit, I’m probably irrationally excited for the return of Russell Brand as Aldous Snow. I’m a huge fan of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Russell Brand is a huge part of that. So when I saw the trailer for Get Him to the Greek I had high expectations. The trailer starts off strong with what I’m sure is one of many cameos in the movie. It’s surprising to me that Sean Combs can tame the ego long enough to be funny but there are a few laughs here and there. The real comedy is in the core material when the trailer starts getting a little crazy. I mean, with a movie about sex, drugs, and rock and roll, there was bound to be a little debauchery in it. Russell Brand is in fine (and notably eccentric) form in the trailer, allowing for Hill to really shine. He does not disappoint, although taking on a different character since Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In short, Get Him to the Greek looks like it’s all about the journey and if the trailer is any indication, it promises to be a good one.
