Flicks on 6 - The Book of Eli, Crazy Heart, The Lovely Bones
Makeup. That's the word of the week while discussing The Book of Eli, Crazy Heart and The Lovely Bones. I wore makeup for the first time. I'd like to give a shout out (to people still say that) to Araksya Karapetyan. She put on my foundation (I think) even though she couldn't stand the sight of my eye. I have the tiniest black eye in the world, and some bruising on my retina. Basketball injury. A little makeup made more sense than an eye patch, even though I could have broke out the pirate joke ... "Have you seen the latest pirate movie? It's rated RRRRRrrrrrrr." Thank you, I'll be here all week.
As always there's things that we don't talk about that I was planning on saying. This week, it was an extra comment about Maggie Gyllenhaal. Some people have said it's odd for her character to fall for the fat, drunk and over-the-hill Bad Blake (Jeff Bridges). I have two words for you ... tube top. That's what she's wearing the first time she interviews him. That's all the explanation I need for her being interested in him. She's not an NPR reporter. She's working at a small paper and could easily be a groupie.
