Hi.

This is Jeff Bayer, and I don't update this site very often. If you'd like to listen to my current movie podcast you can find it at MovieBS.com.

Flicks on 6 - Mario Lopez, 'Avatar' and 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs'

I was supposed to be on KOIN Local 6 just to talk about the new DVDs out on Tuesday. Mario Lopez had different plans, mainly to talk about Avatar. Lopez (aka A.C. Slater from "Saved by the Bell") was on our show to do a cross-promotion for "Extra," where he is the co-host of the entertainment talk show. During the commercial break I run out on set and fumble with my microphone. I don't know why, but I am awful putting it on. Lopez starts asking me what my favorite movie of 2009 is, I answer Inglourious Basterds. He loves this answer. Immediately tells his manager/friend/not exactly sure who he is, and now they both love me. Then he asks about Avatar. I say, "It was really pretty to look at, but it was a weak story." That gets him going. Suddenly, we are on TV in what feels like 10 seconds, but the man won't stop talking and looking right at me. I am not a seasoned TV veteran, so I keep starring at the cameras, getting ready to talk about The Final Destination, but he won't stop. The segment starts and he's just going and going about Avatar ... you'll see the rest. "Saved by the Bell" joke that I didn't squeeze into the segment ...

My hope for The Final Destination was to pull a Jessie Spano ... "I'm so excited, I'm so excited ... I'm so scarred." But that never came close to happening.
