Thor Something Borrowed Jumping the Broom
TSR's complete Film Review Database
This weekend has some competition for number one, but seriously? Who can compete against a god? Consider me one of the faithful, but I see Thor leading the box office this weekend.
Then again, I don't think we've seen the last of the Fast Five. The high-octane sequel stole first place last weekend, but I think it may end up playing second fiddle this weekend.
Something Borrowed may win over the female audience this weekend, but is that enough to win the weekend? Unfortunately, I think not. I see a bronze medal for this rom-com.
Jumping the Broom may win over its audience, but I worry that the audience may not be big enough to guarantee it a box office win. I picture this movie landing in fourth, but not much higher, even with a dedicated audience.
Finally, Rio may fly into fifth place. After several weekends in the top five, this one is in serious danger of becoming extinct. Still, I think it may have another weekend left in it.
Each week Calhoun Kersten and Aaron Ruffcorn go head to head in a Box Office Challenge. Who will win? Maybe you. Aaron will be back Monday with the Box Office Review. Tune in to find out who wins.
We’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order). Also guess how many millions the #1 movie will make.
It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.
Calhoun Kersten's prediction for the weekend of May 6-8 …
1. Thor ($55 Million) 2. Fast Five 3. Something Borrowed 4. Jumping the Broom 5. Rio
Aaron Ruffcorn's prediction for the weekend of May 6-8 …
