Box Office Challenge: 'Limitless' 'The Lincoln Lawyer' and 'Paul'

Box Office Challenge

Hitting the screens this weekend ...

Limitless The Lincoln Lawyer Paul

TSR's complete Film Review Database

We've got a host of new movies sweeping the box office, but the real question is, do any of them have the power to take on Rango's positive reviews and crowd-pleasing ways?

My guess is not. Rango has been making some serious cash and it's shown no signs of stopping.

But Limitless has a solid shot at second place. Bradley Cooper's had his fair share of ups and downs, but with Robert De Niro along for the ride, this one might take off.

Paul looks like a promising entry this weekend, but unfortunately, it doesn't have a lot of star power behind it. I mean, sure I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, but when most people still refer to them as "those guys from Shaun of the Dead", it may not be the star vehicle studios are hoping for.

The Lincoln Lawyer isn't looking like a very serious threat for any of these movies, but I could be wrong. Nothing about it screams "must see" to me, and I can't imagine it'll get that much attention from folks.

Finally, I picture Battle: Los Angeles just barely making the cut. Sure, it's got the looks, but it doesn't have much else and I think critics and audiences are beginning to see that, which should definitely hurt their numbers this weekend especially with all the new entries.

Each week we’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order). Also guess how many millions the #1 movie will make.

It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.

My prediction for the weekend of March 18 - 20…

1. Rango ($17 million)

2. Limitless

3. Paul

4. The Lincoln Lawyer

5. Battle: Los Angeles

So what are your Top 5 at the box office this weekend?
